Matriarch
Matriarch, comprised of an overlapping experimental documentary, installation, and photo book, considers the death of my grandmother, Bobby Blackwell. The work offers an unflinching reinterpretation of the familial gaze, not shying away from addiction, loss, or decay. And yet the work is also hopeful. In mourning and reckoning with our demons, we move towards healing.
